Wesley & Audrey are Six Months

Six months. I can't even wrap my brain around it!
My sweet Wesley is 17 pounds 5 ounces and (50th percentile) and 26-1/4" long (50th percentile). He is rolling back to front but not front to back. No crawling or anything which is fine by me! He started physical therapy this week and the therapist thinks he has improved greatly on his left side. The doctor initially told us to have his assessed because he favors his left side (see flat head) and he wanted to make sure he was learning to do things in a balanced way. I don't foresee him doing the therapy for long. He has already improved since his initial assessment.
Helmet therapy starts soon. We have him measured this Thursday and the helmet will be in November 10th. I'm counting the days that I can still nuzzle and kiss his little bald head. Sniff, sniff. We're hoping he will be in a only a couple of months but of course I'm prepared to do what I have to do to make his head a little more round :)
He is still the best baby! Seriously, he is so chill. I can count on one hand the number of times he's had meltdowns and most of them have been this week. Kind of making me nervous. Stay chill baby!!! He was having nothing of the pictures I was taking this day though for sure.
He is finally getting some hair! (Just in time for the helmet). Of course he is a little blondie.
He is into blowing raspberries and sticking his tongue out right now. He is so stinking cute!

My little Audrey Anne. How do I love thee.
She is 16 pounds 4 ounces (55th percentile) and 25-3/4" long (50th percentile).
Oh my goodness this girl. She has smiles for days and loves to snuggle. She is rolling from back to front and has rolled front to back a couple of times. She is also doing the whole floor humping thing both Evan and Erin did in preparation to crawl. I can't even think about that right now.
While Audrey is definitely not as calm as Wes I just love her personality. If she is awake she is moving! And smiling! And yelling! She's my wild and crazy girl and reminds me so much of Erin.
But little miss is going to break from tradition and be a brunette! Unless it changes but it's pretty dang dark. And I love it!

She is so sweet I could just eat her up. And those lashes! I'm super jealous.
These twins of mine are just growing up way too fast. Maybe that's why I haven't started them on solids yet, I'm trying to hold on to keeping them itty bitty and none of this growing up stuff. Blah. But I have bought the baby food and have the high chairs ready to go. I just need to bite the bullet and do it. Finding the time has actually been quite difficult though. But it needs to happen this week.
And I think the past couple of nights both babies have realized going to bed is no fun and they know they will be missing out on all the action. So crying it out at bedtime has started and oh boy did I think it was hard with one baby. Lord give me strength.
That's it for now, with October drawing to a close I'm hoping I'll have more time to blog and keep up with documenting every waking moment of my beautiful kiddos lives.

Life

I uploaded the pictures for this post before writing and realized it was a pretty random mix. So I'll just let the pictures speak for this post for now. I have lots of blogging to do to catch up, including the twins 6 months stats…but my bed is calling my name right now.

Halloween at the Zoo

We got Halloween kicked off a little early this year by visiting the zoo the beginning of October. The kids official costumes (except Evan's) have not arrived yet so we made due with some old, borrowed and hand me downs. I think they all turned out pretty darn cute though!

Pumpkin Patch 2014

Getting all six of us in the pumpkin patch was kind of challenge this year. Not like they are very stroller friendly. I bought a couple of carriers a few days before and they worked great. And the twins loved them! It was a chilly fall day so we bundled them up pretty good.
Another challenge was taking pictures. I got a few good ones though.
Erin's face in this picture cracks me up.

Love this one, Erin's hair is wild!

We only took home one pumpkin but it was a beauty.

The Bed

So we got a new bed and I thought oh I'll just get all the kids dressed for an impromptu photo shoot. It did not work out. But I guess it kinda did.

And then we took the party outside. A little better but still not a perfect group shot. I can live with that, I love baby belly buttons :)

This and That

I find myself with roughly 15 minutes of free time to blog and I don't have much to say. Life is hectic and stressful. We are trying our best of course but sometimes I have this overwhelming feeling I could be doing more. I have to stop and ask myself if I'm being lazy or is this how every other mother of four would handle this situation. I feel like I should be cooking more, cleaning more, doing laundry more often, organizing everything, eating better, hitting the gym and about a billion other things.
But then (luckily) as soon as my head starts to spin any number of things can happen that snap me right out of it.  A gummy smile from Wes. Audrey's sleepy head resting on my shoulder. Erin's insistence that I MUST watch Peppa Pig with her or maybe Evan will say a quick unprompted "I love you" as he passes through the room.  So maybe I'm not doing absolutely everything that I could be doing. And I am ok with that.
Right now as I type this post one handed I hold my sweet nearly 5 month old Audrey in my arms. She just woke up crying and maybe the pre-twins me would have given her the pacifier and left her in her crib to possibly go back to sleep, possibly cry a little more. The post twin me wants to freeze this moment forever. Holding her, listening to her sweet baby breathes, feeling her warmth and drinking in every ounce of her. It reminds me of this quote:

"A first child is your own best foot forward, and how you do cheer those little feet as they strike out.
You examine every turn of flesh for precocity, and crow it to the world.

But the last one: the baby who trails her scent like a flag of surrender through your life when there will be no more coming after--oh, that's love by a different name.

She is the babe you hold in your arms for an hour after she's gone to sleep. If you put her down in the crib, she might wake up changed and fly away.

So instead you rock by the window, drinking the light from her skin, breathing her exhaled dreams.

You heart bays to the double crescent moons of closed lashes on her cheeks. She's the one you can't put down."
.Barbara Kingsolver.

Right?
I still can't think about not having more babies. I know I'm done. I know. But I would have 10 more if i could.
