Erin's First Year

Of course I got super emotional going through all these pics of Erin's 1st year. I did the same thing for Evan's first birthday and it's really neat to see a quick glimpse of how much they change the first year of their lives.

See what I mean? She's such a big girl now, but I refuse to call her anything but my baby.
We have her one year checkup scheduled for a couple of weeks from now, so I'll need to post her stats then. I know she weighs 20 pounds but have no idea about the height.  I'll try and post some pictures from her birthday party soon, she tore into her cake like a champ!!!

Erin is One!!!

How is she one? I have no idea. It does not feel like it's been a year since I first held her in my arms.  Her actual birthday was yesterday and we had a small celebration at home. A little present from Evan was up first. He picked it out himself.
I think she likes it.
And then it was time for cake. She was not shy about smashing into it. At first the icing on her hands ticked her off.

But she got over it as soon as she tasted the yumminess.

I'm looking forward to her party in a couple of days, I can't wait to see everyone and celebrate my favorite girl.

Erin is Walking!

I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that my sweet girl will be 1 in a four days. And just like Evan she walked just a few days before her 1st birthday. I didn't catch the first steps on camera but of course I got the second. I was thrilled, I knew she was close and all she had to do was let go!

And then there was no turning back. She walked probably 20 more times last night, the fear was gone.
She had a high fever on Friday of almost 104 and I'm not sure what's going on. I guess it's a virus. The pediatrician said her strep test came back negative and she isn't really showing any kind of symptoms. Not even a runny nose. It's only been a slight fever since Friday and tylenol seems to be taking care of it. She did get a new tooth on Friday next to her two front teeth. And it looks like the one on the other side is about ready to pop through. I guess that could be the issue.
We have a big first birthday party planned for next Sunday. I hope the weather cooperates and it's not as hot as it has been lately. I'm excited to see everybody and can't wait to see how Erin's cake turned out.
I'm going to TRY and do her 1 year pictures today. I already did some of her smashing her cake for the invitations and I think they turned out cute.
Mmmm cake!
