Holy Shirts and Pants

Once again I went to a kids consignment sale to get all the fall/winter clothes the kids will need.
I went waaaay overboard on Erin's clothes - they are all just so hard to resist with the cuteness and the prices make it so much harder.
But first, Evan's parade of long sleeve t's. I still think I need more since this is just about all he wears, so maybe I will go back and see what is left this weekend. (click on the pictures to enlarge).
Lots of khaki, again a staple.
And that's the extent of what I was able to find for Evan.
Erin's clothing selection was a totally different story. Having a girl gives you so many more options! This was the first time I have shopped at this sale for her and I was thrilled. My basket got so heavy at one point I could not lift it! Luckily when I sorted I was able to put back a few things that enabled me to carry the goods to the car.
I've mentioned before here I am a sucker for the shirt and pants sets that are sold together. They are usually the best deal.
Some more pants.
The cutesy dresses. The blue one in the front was my one splurge (at a whopping $6).
Shirts. Turns out owls are very popular right now.
And more onesies! So many that I even bought the same one twice and didn't realize it. (the green one with hearts). But they are different sizes so it is fine with me.
I bought a few sleepers for her and Evan but at this point Evan had decided he had had enough with my little photo session.
And then he wanted to take a nap on the clothes.

My Girl

I am loving my time off with this sweet girl. On the days I am taking Evan to daycare (twice a week for now) I just spend all day doting on her and getting to know her. She is truly sweet and is still a very laid back baby. Rarely cries and is sleeping well. Night before last she slept a whopping 7 hours! But last night she woke up twice to eat so it was possibly a fluke.
She's officially out of newborn sizes and I already boxed up a ton of clothes she has outgrown. I know I say this all the time but I can't believe how fast she is growing!
I love her crazy eyes. She looks so shocked and surprised sometimes it just makes me laugh.
She loves her swing right now, and also LOVES to be held. I don't mind so much, I mean - look at that sweet face :-)

Erin's One Month Stats

At the pediatrician this morning Erin weighed 10 pounds 1 ounce and was 21-1/2" long - both 75th percentile. The doctor said everything looks really great and she is right on track. Yay!

Erin is 4 Weeks

How is it possible that nearly a month has passed since I had her?
I take her in for her one month check up on Friday and I will post her stats then but I wanted to do a quick post about how we are doing.
Erin has a pretty good schedule right now. I could set a clock to her feedings. She eats about every 3 hours during the day with her last feeding at 9:30. She then sleeps until 2:30am, eats and goes right back to sleep. She wakes up at 6:30am everyday and that is when we start our day. I can't complain too much since she is only getting up once a night and has been for over a week now. We switched her to sensitive formula since she was spitting up quite a bit and seemed really uncomfortable after she ate. It has helped with the spitting up but not too much with the squirmy discomfort she seems to have after she eats.

Evan is still doing great with her. Any time he is near her he is happy. Always smiling and asking how she is doing. He must kiss her 20 times a day! He says he loves his sister and it just melts my heart.

Sometimes we do see a bit of jealousy though. Most of the time it is when he is really tired and doesn't have much patience for "mommy needs to feed the baby" or "mommy needs to change the baby".
He is adjusting though, as we all are to our new addition, new schedule and new adventures. He still doesn't understand he's a little too big for her toys though.

My Shy Boy

Evan is shy. So so shy. Anytime he is around strange adults and even children he clings to my leg like he is scared to death. And to be honest it's not always a bad thing. If we are out in public or at a party I don't have to look far for my little guy because he won't leave my side.
Today we went to a playground/splashground. This is one of the situations I wish he was more comfortable playing with other kids. For over an hour we sat at a picnic table and he refused to move from my side. Eventually the very end of the splashground was empty and I saw my chance to get him into the water.  And he loved it.

But anytime another kid would come down to the end he was back to me holding on to my pants leg.
He really enjoyed himself though and I just have to plan for plenty of time for him to adjust. It was really crowded today but schools start back tomorrow so we will be making more trips this summer until it closes. It is a great park - lots of stuff to do.  But of course Evan chooses to pick up and inspect sticks.
This trip was also the first time I took both kids somewhere other than a grocery store or Target by myself. Erin did great and slept the whole time.
About 2 hours in Evan decided he could at least stand next to another kid, so I think he has made some progress. We'll see on our next trip!

What I Love About Sundays

Sundays at our house are very laid back. (Until football season starts at least). It's so nice to be together all day as a family.
Even with the unbearable heat we are able to make it outside in the late afternoon for some outdoor activities. Evan has always just loved it outside and I think Erin is going to love it too. She just sleeps and sleeps basking in the warmness.

Evan however does the opposite. He never stops moving. Going from one activity to the next.

This boy is so happy around the water.
He also loves to "swing it".
I love watching him play and as he gets older it's so fun to see how he tries to figure things out and questions everything. Makes me want every day to be just like Sundays.
